Century Mold is Recipient of "2010 Environmental Impact Award"

(Rochester, NY) Power Management Company is pleased to announce that Century Mold Company is the first company to be awarded the 2010 Environmental Impact Award. The award will be presented annually to a company whose actions make a positive impact on the environment.

In 2010, Power Management Company completed a comprehensive lighting design and retrofit project for the injection molding company’s Rochester manufacturing facility. The lighting project was based on a comprehensive LightSavers Facility Energy Performance Audit, which was performed by Power Management Company.

Ron Ricotta, CEO of Century Mold, noted: “We are pleased to receive the Environmental Impact Award from Power Management Company. Improving the environment is everyone’s business, and we appreciate the recognition of our efforts to become a greener company. Power Management Company provided us with a lighting solution for our Rochester facility that reduced our annual electricity use by over 314,000 kWh, and helped reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.”

Century Mold was able to secure partial financing for the project from NYSERDA through a performance-based incentive program. The company also benefitted from the Federal Energy Policy Act, which provides tax deductions to businesses that implement energy efficiency measures.

In the US, it is becoming more important for companies to reduce greenhouse gases due to new environmental regulations. Power Management’s LightSavers program helped Century Mold reduce CO² by 113 tons; sulfur dioxide by 944 pounds; and nitrogen oxide by 261 lbs.
